Book Preview: "Moon Shifter"
It is forbidden for a moon shifter of The Mac Tíre clan to change a human and save them from death. Grayson Quinn, the alpha of the pack ignores the ancient rule when Sydney Carlisle, his fiancée is ravaged by one of his own kind.
Sydney believes she is a monster, a werewolf. She flees before Grayson can help her adjust, but Grayson must find her. Sydney’s body is still changing and the were-lust will drive her crazy if not sated. He has until the full moon to help her tame the wolf inside and convince her she’s his soul mate. If he fails, he loses her forever.
Sydney still craves Grayson’s touch, but can her heart forgive him for making her one of the Mac Tíre?
EXCERPT
Grayson raked a hand through his hair. He didn’t realize how difficult being near her would be. Not being able to run the palms of his hands down the length of her body, not being able to leave a trail of kisses along the sensitive area of her collar bone…not being able to make love to her until the early hours of the morning.
She was swollen, ready… He wondered if she knew what was happening to her body as the constant undercurrent of desire made her breasts heavy and her nipples taunt and sensitive, wanting to be suckled. He took a ragged breath as the sexual tension thickened the air in his lungs. “Stay strong, Grayson,” he mumbled for encouragement. He had to remain in control.
He had hoped once he caught up with Sydney, he’d have more time to explain what it meant to be a moon shifter and what was expected of her. Secrecy to the packs meant life or death and a lone wolf ignorant of the Mac Tíre ways could prove a threat.
Time wasn’t on his side and he couldn’t ease Sydney into the life. The wolf in her already demanded a mate. She must choose one soon or risk the chance of a brute taking her without her consent. She wouldn’t be strong enough to fight off a full-blooded moon shifter, especially if the brute set his mind to have her.
Some lived by the code to protect, fitting in with humanity and fighting off the more animalistic traits of their forebears. However, a few of the packs reveled in showing their brute strength. If an alpha male from another pack wanted her, he’d take her by force and fight anyone who stood in his way. If that happened, Sydney would find herself mated for life"for better or for worse. She wouldn’t be able to hold back her own lust and she’d bite him, bonding her forever.
He could tell Sydney he wanted her. She belonged with him. But after a year on her own, she still hadn’t forgiven him for sharing his Mac Tíre blood. She blamed him for what she was"detested what they both were. If he could have done something different, he would have, but when he found her, she was dying, her life force ebbing away. His need to save her overrode every reasonable thought and he reacted because he loved her. He still did. He would stand by her, fight whoever tried to take her against her will. Making her a moon shifter without her consent, he owed her the chance to decide who her life-mate would be.
He looked toward the bathroom door and frowned. She’d been in there too long. “Damn. The window.”
