EXCERPT
See-See swam in circles around her clump of seaweed. "I'll come up with a plan... The shore! Of course!"
"Back to the waves?"
"We'll have to hurry before the children playing on the beach go home for dinner," See-See said.
Gilly would get seasick again, but it was his only chance to leave the ocean.
"Come along, Gilly. We have to go back to the waves. You won't live much longer if you stay in the ocean."
"I can't swim up-side down," Gilly whispered weakly.
"Don't worry. I'll get you there," See-See promised.
See-See found three of her sea horse friends. Together they wrapped seaweed around Gilly's fins. Then they pulled him back to the waves. They swam close to the beach. See-See jumped up, keeping her head above the water so she could see who was on the beach.
"There's a pretty lady taking a nap on a towel. A small boy is kicking a sand castle down with his foot. His sister's crying. Further down the beach is a little girl. She's scooping up shells with a net. We have to reach her! We must!"
